Today, the Food and Drug Administration of the United States (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have announced a new joint innovative research initiative which will serve as a key element to carry out the US Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Robert F. Kennedy, JR.’s commitment to America again in good health. Chronic diseases related to the diet increases continuously, it is imperative that the FDA and the NIH work in locking to invest in the science of gold standards, prioritize a better understanding of the deep causes to end the crisis of chronic diseases linked to the diet and protect the health of American children.
As part of the new nutrition regulation science program, the FDA and NIH will implement and accelerate a complete nutrition research program which will provide essential information to clarify the effective actions of food and nutritional policies to help make food and food regimes of the Americans. The initiative will aim to answer questions such as:
- How and why can ultra-transformed foods affect people’s health?
- How could certain food additives affect metabolic health and possibly contribute to chronic diseases?
- What is the role of maternal and childish food exhibitions on health results throughout life, including autoimmune diseases?
Responding to these questions and many others will allow an effective development of policies and will help promote the radical transparency that Americans deserve the food they eat and how these foods can have an impact on their health.

The FDA will provide its critical expertise in regulatory sciences and NIH will provide the infrastructure for solicitation, examination and management of scientific research. The initiative will bring together experts in many disciplines–Including chronic diseases, nutrition, toxicology, risk analysis, behavioral sciences and chemistry–All in order to advance the golden stallion of nutrition and food science.

The FDA and the NIH will work together to develop a research program for the Nutrition Regulation Sciences Program and undertake to guarantee that all research carried out within the framework of the program is fair, independent and without conflicts of interest.
