The audio of an air traffic controller at the last breakdown of Newark Liberty International Airport is published on “America Reports”.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed on Friday that there was another failure of air traffic control this morning affecting Newark Liberty International Airport.

The development comes after the FAA published a ground stop at the airport, due to the construction, which was in force until 11:15 a.m.

In audio captured by Liveatc.net, an air traffic controller told a Fedex plane that “our glasses were again in black”.

“If you care about this, contact your airline and try to get pressure to repair these things,” said the unidentified controller.

Another controller was heard to say to a private plane: “We just had another brief radar breakdown. In case it happens, for your needs if you cannot join me, stay at 3,000 or higher than you go to Morristown, then you can simply clean from the approach of there.”

“There was a telecommunications failure that had an impact on communications and radar display in the C zone C of Philadelphia Tracon, which guides planes in and outside the airspace of Newark Liberty International Airport,” said FAA. “The breakdown occurred around 3:55 am on Friday May 9 and lasted around 90 seconds.”

Last week, air controllers from the FAA installation in Philadelphia Radar and Radio Signals Lost While directing planes to Newark for almost 90 seconds also, causing significant delays and flight cancellations that remain underway.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told journalists on Friday that “there was a problem in the system this morning, especially at Newark airport.

“As you all know, I talked to the Ministry of Transport. This problem was caused by the same telecommunications and software problems that were raised last week. Everything was returned online after the brief breakdown, and there was no operational impact,” said Leavitt.

“Dot and the FAA strive to solve this technical problem this evening to avoid other failures, as well as to install new fibers from Newark airport in Philadelphia. And the objective is to have the entire work at the end of the summer,” she added.

Representative Josh Gottheimer, DN.J., described the latest failure of “big news”.

“I understand that there has been another breakdown in the past hours, another 90-second release of radar and radio in the region. This is the second time in a few days,” he said at Newark airport on Friday.

“Travelers have had it with delays. I heard many of them. They call me, they talk to me. You see them publish on delays, on cancellations,” added Gottheimer. “This airport is a key center for our economy in the region. Twenty percent of American GDP crosses this region.”

“But what they are frustrated and angry and angry and angry and angry is because at the moment, the airport simply does not have the levels of staff of the FAA tower, modern technology and the infrastructures we need to make sure that this most busy airspace in the world, works effectively, gently and safely, 24/7”, he continued. “You add this to the construction during the track here in Newark, which was planned, and you can see why things overall are a waste at this airport and why things are blocked and why these delays occur every day right now, and the cancellations occur every day.”

Gottheimer said “” We must immediately move more air traffic controllers from other parts of the country to this region in the short term “and” we have to pay these air controllers everything you need to bring them – bonuses, overtime “.

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby told customers that last week’s technology failure had resulted in “dozens of diverted flights, hundreds of delayed and canceled flights and, worse on all, thousands of customers with disturbed travel plans”.

To try to minimize the impact it will have on customers, Kirby said that the carrier unilaterally cancels 35 round-trip flights per day from his Newark calendar, which has already been reduced.

“It is disappointing to make other cuts to an already reduced calendar in Newark, but as there is no way to solve the short -term structural endowment problems of the FAA, we believe that there is no other choice to protect our customers,” added Kirby.

American Airlines said its customers had also been affected.

“Newark’s challenges have led to delays and disruptions of airlines and their customers – including American – and demonstrate the urgent need for personnel and modernization of our air traffic control system,” the carrier said in a statement at Fox Business.
