One of the persistent myths in the world of nutrition is that carbohydrates are bad for health. Now, the expert in integrative lifestyle Luke Coutinho shared a video on Instagram highlighting the problem. According to him, it was the social media that qualified the carbohydrates as “demon”. In the clip, Luke Coutinho reveals a carbohydrate that must be included in your diet. These are sweet potatoes.

According to Luke Coutinho, “carbohydrates are excellent as long as we have good quality and good quantity”. The well-being expert adds: “The carbohydrates that we should eat in our country on rice and rotis and everything else is sweet potato.”

Luke Coutinho expresses his dissatisfaction saying that although India is the “diabetic capital of the world”, people “always take care of bakery products, and junk food and processed foods”. He insists that viewers “replace rice or roti with sweet potatoes” saying that they are filled with nutrition and are perfect for managing blood sugar. In addition, sweet potatoes can be associated with almost all foods.
