Honolulu (Hawaiinewsnow) – A yoga event to celebrate International Yoga Day hopes to raise awareness of connection, health and peace.
The Ghandi for Peace Institute collaborates with others to bring the community together to celebrate yoga on Sunday June 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kamifier Waikiki in Kapiolani Park.
The organizers said that the theme of the event “Yoga for Health & Peace” honors the world movement towards well-being and unity.
It will include yoga asanas, breath exercises, mantra songs, meditation, cultural dances and sound healing.
There will also be guest speakers, notably the municipal councilor of Honolulu and guest of honor, Mike Gabbard, and the Deputy Consul of the Republic of India, Rakesh Adlakha.

The event is free with free parking at Waikiki Shell. Participants must bring yoga carpets.
