Murat Kuzlu, PH.D., an associate professor and director of the electrical engineering technology program, received the research, research and creative realization of the old age of the University of Dominion.
The price recognizes a full -time ODU faculty with at least five years of service which have achieved national importance for research and high quality scholarships.
Dr. Kuzlu joined the ODU engineering technology department in 2018. He was previously a deputy research professor at the Advanced Research Institute of Virginia Tech and principal researcher at the Scientific and Technological Research Council in Turkey.
His research focuses on cyber-physical systems, intelligent systems and cities, artificial intelligence (AI) and trustworthy AI. He also works on new generation communication technologies and their applications.
Dr. Kuzlu established and directs the Advanced intelligent system laboratoryWhere he supervises the students and employees of the faculty on innovative projects integrating AI, automatic learning and IoT technologies for intelligent city applications, energy systems and digital security.
In his appointment letter, Vukica Jovanovic, Ph.D., professor and president of the Department of Engineering Technology, praised the practical research applications of Dr. Kuzlu.
“Beyond the traditional scholarship, Dr. Kuzlu’s research has led to real applications in smart cities, digital twins and decision-making systems fueled by AI,” wrote Dr Jovanovic. “His collaborations with industry partners, national laboratories and government agencies have motivated the development of secure and effective AI systems, in particular in fields such as intelligent networks, health care automation and new generation communication networks. His work in digital twin modeling for intelligent systems and secure 6G systems helps shape future standards and technologies. “
Dr. Kuzlu has a vast publication file, with more than 100 works evaluated by peers, including 43 review articles, 90 conference articles and eight chapters of books. He is the author of two books: the digitization of electricity markets and systems using energy computer science and confidence AI: from theory to practice. It was also recognized among the 2% the 2% of the most cited researchers in the world (2021-2024), as identified by the University of Stanford. According to Google Scholar, Dr. Kuzlu has accumulated 5,838 quotes since 2020.
Kuzlu obtained his doctorate, M.SC. and B.SC. in terms of electronics and telecommunications from engineering from the University of Kocaeli in Türkiye.
