Continuous air quality surveillance has not indicated any relevant concern for health or public concerns, South Bow said.
The site remains occupied, said Myron Hammer, a nearby land owner who cultivates the land affected by the spill. The workers have brought carpets to the field so that the equipment can access the site and that many equipment is assembled, he said.
The area has traffic control points and workers have transported gravel to keep the roads, said Hammer.
There is a group of houses in the region, and residents include retirees and people working in neighboring cities, he said.
However, the spill site is not in a highly populated area, added a hammer.
South Bow said the leak was detected for the first time Tuesday around 8:42 a.m., after a control center leak detection system alerted them from a pressure drop in the system and the pipeline was arrested a few minutes later.

Experts have warned that an prolonged closure could increase petrol prices in the American Midwest.
“It is difficult to see how you replace this with the stock that goes to these refineries,” said Ramanan Krishnamoorti, vice-president of energy and innovation at the University of Houston.
Gas prices in the Midwest have already experienced an increase that should increase, and diesel prices could also be impacted significantly and quickly, Krishnamoorti said.
Mark Lacour, editor -in -chief of the World Petroleum and Gas network, said that he did not think that the closure of the pipeline will have a dramatic effect unless it lasts two or three weeks.
Underground Oléagnes can be subject to a number of problems, both internal and external, said Robert Hall, a main technical advisor to the Safety Trust pipeline who was previously director of investigations on the railway, pipelines and dangerous materials at the National Transportation Safety Board.
Pipelines can face internal factors such as corrosion and pressure fluctuations leading to fatigue and cracks, Hall said.
External threats include corrosion, bumps, gouges and construction damage, Hall added.
However, he said pipelines are always the safest method to transport petroleum products.
“Depending on the history of the accident, if you look at the accidents that have occurred with trains, trucks and barges, there are collisions,” he said, citing an oil train derailment in 2013 in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec who killed 47 people.
