THE College of Charleston School of Business Has maintained its double accreditation in business and accounting by AACSB International, a distinction obtained by less than 200 business schools worldwide.

The AACSB is the largest commercial education alliance in the world, connecting educators, learners and businesses to create the next generation of major leaders.

“Maintaining this prestigious accreditation is an important achievement for our school of activity,” explains Paul Schwager,, dean. “This reflects our continuous commitment to significant objectives, to promote strong connections and to obtain impactful results. We are grateful to our entire business school – teachers, staff, students, former students, governors’ council and community members – who participated in the accreditation process. »»

The College of Charleston business school offers a dynamic and innovative learning experience thanks to its undergraduate programs, graduates, management and continuing education, which emphasize experiential learning. The school offers several centers and initiatives which serve as sets for research and community engagement. In particular, the business school houses its own Student Success CenterA headquarters for advice, career exploration and professional development.

Schools accredited by the AACSB guarantee that students receive a highest quality commercial education, equipping them with knowledge and high -demand skills that employers and the company need. Only 6% of business schools in the world reach this important accreditation.

The business school obtained its first accreditation for its business program in 1988. In 1994, it obtained a double accreditation in business and accounting, strengthening its commitment to excellence. With the recent extension of the accreditation of the business school, a total of 1,037 establishments in more than 65 countries and territories are accredited. Only 195 institutions worldwide, representing less than 2% of business schools, obtained separate accreditation for their accounting programs.

Double accreditation of the business school is something that Robert HoganPresident of the Department of Accounting and Business Law, is proud.

“Our accredited accounting program is a point of distinction for both business school and university,” he says. “With expert teachers, a strong undergraduate program, a Beta Alpha Psi active chapter and a rigorous master’s program, we prepare our students to successful careers as accounting professionals.”

The business school will maintain its accreditation for the next five years, the accreditation cycle extending to six years in 2026.
