Reno, nev. (Kolo) – The city of Reno will host a Live entertainment zoning code meeting To discuss new potential live entertainment standards which will include noise limits at C.
A large part of our largest city, including Midtown, Downtown and 4th Street, already allow companies to operate 24 hours a day. Over the years, live entertainment regulations (RMC 18.03.405) have changed. This has resulted in existing bars / discotheques with live entertainment without restriction, without noise limits, while the most recent have separate regulations which must be approved by a unique conditional use permit in their particular location.
The different and inconsistent regulations have also created a challenge in applying the rules for each establishment. The potential updates of the zoning code could include a coherent set of rules that all companies with live entertainment (song, dance, karaoke, trivia dj, etc.) should follow with a new C noise limit in C which regulates noise on scale C.
The community meeting will include discussions on live outdoor entertainment at the city level, live entertainment in the room, operating hours and a security plan control list for cabaret licenses. The staff of the city will assess the comments of the discussion for the potential to initiate an element of modification of the text of the zoning code of entertainment live on a meeting program of the subsequent municipal council followed by additional public engagement possibilities for a future introduction of order.
