Chicago goalkeeper Bulls Ayo Dosunmu will miss the rest of the season after the discovery of a shoulder fracture that had at least a year, he confirmed on Tuesday.
Dosummu will undergo surgery to repair his left shoulder on Wednesday, and he will need four to six months to recover. He expects to be ready to go in time for the training camp next fall.
Dosunmu was first injured in the shoulder in a match against the New York Knicks on February 20, and then missed three games accordingly. While trying to return to the Bulls’ victory against the Toronto Raptors, Dosunmu, had trouble facing his shoulder pain on Friday. An MRI then revealed that the fracture had at least a year, which led the Bulls to close for the rest of the year.
“I don’t remember where it started, but I remember having it,” said Dosunmu, Via Jamal Espn necklace. “My shoulder becomes numb and (I would jump) at the back. I remember many times, but I can’t tell you the exact date.
“It’s something I played on and I think I could have continued to play, but I don’t know for what reason.”
Dosummu, which the Bulls took in the second round of the Illinois NBA 2021 NBA, finished the season with an average of 12.3 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per match – all the heights in career. The 25 -year -old will enter the last year of his $ 21 million over three years with the team next year next season.
The Bulls participated in the Tuesday match against the Cleveland riders with a 24-37 file, which in 10th in the Eastern Conference ranking. Chicago has reached the first round of the playoffs only once in the past eight seasons.
“I am proud in the whole season, to go out, to fight against injury and to continue to fight,” said Dosunmu. “The last match, just trying to give everything, help the team get a victory. (I) knew almost that it would probably be my last game of the season. I just knew what I felt there.
“I am delighted to eliminate this surgery and attack rehabilitation.”
