The cast of “The breakfast club»Gathered the weekend for the first time in 40 years.
The stars of the film from the age of the 1980s went on stage at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo on Saturday.
“I really feel, very emotional and moved to have us all,” said Molly Ringwald, who played Claire in the film. “This is the first time that Emilio (Estnez) has joined us. We no longer have to use the cardboard cutting. ”
Estnez, who played Andrew, said that joining Reunion was “something that I felt like I had to do, just for me”, adding that it was special to return to Chicago where they shot the film.
The actors remembered the late director of the film, John Hughes, who was also known for emblematic teenage films like “Sixteen Cougies” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day off”.
“Hughes explained the differences between young people and the big ones, so it’s time for him to show us where we meet in the end, because we are all older now,” said Judd Nelson, who played John Bender. “But we are not going to understand that, which is sad.”

Estnez also revealed that he “passed out” when the casting met for the first time, after bringing his wisdom teeth out the day before. According to Estnez, after their first reading of the script, Hughes proposed to see the first “sixteen candles” cup, that Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall both played.
“I don’t think I passed through the opening credits, and I passed out,” said Estnez. “I woke up in the end credits and I watched Judd and Judd said:” I think you are fired “.”
Ringwald, who was 16, when they shot “breakfast”, said the years later with his children was a “wild experience” that changed his parenting.
“If you had told me when I was 16 (that) one day, I would watch this film with my 10 year old child and (that) will change the way I am a parent. I mean it’s just breathtaking,” she said. The actress admitted that at the time, her daughter was perhaps too young to watch the film. However, speaking of the characters that his daughter identified with “opened this incredible conversation”.
“And then I watched the film recently with my 15 year old children, a little more age, and I must say that they did not picked up their phones once, which for me … It was a victory,” added Ringwald.
