MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Black Business Hub hosted its final winter market bringing together local businesses, entrepreneurs and families for a fun-filled holiday afternoon.

There was plenty to see, do and eat. Christmas carols sung by Leotha Stanley and the smell of cooking from local chefs filled the air. Visitors also had the chance to discover unique gifts and take photos with Black Santa.

Saturday was the third time the market was held and organizers said the community enjoyed it, especially the businesses.

“Businesses are very excited to be able to come and sell their products,” said Ruben Anthony, president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Madison. “They’re also excited to have a place where they know they can have access to capital, where they can get training that they can now participate in, and where they can meet investors and have a space that is theirs. own. .”

Anthony said he is already looking ahead to next year to host similar events and encouraged entrepreneurs to contact us if they want to get a head start on their business.

“We want to continue to be a resource, not only for South Madison, but for this community as a whole,” Anthony said. “We have training programs to teach you how to start a business, how to grow it and we have a lot of resources in the building. »
