Bringing a dog to your life can trigger a world of joy, energy and pet – but finding the right adjustment for your lifestyle is crucial. Each breed is delivered with its own whims and needs: some prosper with room to wander, others settle happily in apartment life; Some are looking for a constant commitment, while others are content with silent routines.

Among the many options, a breed is constantly distinguished from its versatility: the Golden Retriever.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Golden Retrievers are not only sympathetic – they are deeply loyal and eager to please, the qualities that make them easy to train and quick to create links with families of all types.

“They are the dog par excellence,” explains Dr. Carly FoxPrincipal veterinarian in the emergency and urgent care service of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. Addressing Newsweek, she described the race as “the best friend of the man at the end”.

Whether you are an active adventurer or someone who prefers slow mornings and calm evenings, Golden Retrievers has a remarkable ability to adapt – and bring heart to any house.

Fox said these dogs are fairly adaptable to different lifestyles and in emotionally phase with their owners. Ideally, they should receive one or two hours of exercise per day, be often around people and have several mental stimulation paths, such as obedience, puzzles or perfume work.

However, Fox has added that Goldens can develop an important orthopedic disease in overweight, so keeping them thin is a must.

“For these reasons, I would place them in the” versatile “category in a moderately active lifestyle,” she said.

The AKC says that, as smart and affectionate companions, Golden Retrievers has large pets for families with children. Like any race, early socialization and puppy training are important for their development.

Giving them enough exercise and mental stimulation can help prevent poor behavior. Although they can make excellent companions on long tracks, hikes and bicycle walks, they also thrive in quieter spaces, as long as they make their daily walks.

Other dog breeds easily adaptable

Other easily adaptable dogs, according to Dr. Toudd East, director of veterinary affairs, Royal Canin North America, include Labrador Retrievers and Poodles.

He said Nowsweek That you are also likely to find a retriever of the Labrador jumping from a quay, while you are curled up at your feet.

“These dogs are used in a variety of jobs, from hunting to service. Their desire to please is unequaled in the world of race, which makes them one of the most adaptable breeds.”

As for the poodles, it explains that in addition to being quite versatile, they also have the additional advantage of being less allergenic than other breeds.

“The poodle is one of my favorite patients from a veterinary point of view, in particular the standards, because of their calm behavior, their increased intelligence and to be simply easy to examine. They have a strong transformation, which makes it an adaptable race.”

Mixing dogs also make fairly adaptable breeds and are able to thrive in a variety of various environments.

Dogs that fit into your active lifestyle

If you lead an active lifestyle, you may want to look for dog breeds that are more in tune with your needs.

Dr. Ashly Smith, veterinarian of the small veterinary door, said Nowsweek In this case, breeds like Border Collies, Australian shepherds and Vizslas are probably the most well suited to you.

“These breeds have been initially developed for work such as breeding or hunting, so they have high energy levels, net intelligence and a need for regular and mental stimulation.

“Without an adequate exercise, they can be bored or developing behavioral problems. They thrive in houses where daily races, hikes or advanced training are part of the routine,” said Smith.

East added that breeds like German shepherds, often used by the army or the police for their stature and impressive intelligence, and pointers with short German hair, who were originally high for sport, can also make an excellent addition to an active lifestyle.

Dogs that thrive in a more relaxed environment

If you are specifically looking for the type of canine companion, the Bulldogs, English and French, according to East, will certainly make worthy candidates.

“On the basis of their short legs, their trap-on stature and a short muzzle with tiny nostrils, these dogs are not physically designed for an active lifestyle. These breeds prefer to be curled up on the sofa than to hunt outside the squirrels,” he said.

Despite their size, mastiffs are also a relaxed breed that likes to spend time relaxing at home with their owners. If you are looking for a smaller dog, a box would also make an excellent choice.

“These dogs are perfect for the knees, as long as you can manage a little snoring,” added East.

According to Smith, Basset Hounds and King Charles Spaniels rider are an excellent match for a more refrigerated lifestyle.

“These dogs tend to have lower energy needs and are content with shorter walks and many hugs,” she said.

“That said,” lazy “does not mean exercise. These dogs still benefit from regular activity to maintain healthy weight and prevent joint problems, especially if they are subject to orthopedic problems.”
