He has become fashionable to say that Patrick Mahomes is not the same guy he was a few years ago.
It’s absurd.
His figures in the past two seasons may not have been as seeing as in other seasons, but Mahomes is still the best NFL player, which is why he is n ° 1 in my annual ranking of the 100 best players in the League. Plate with his numbers whatever you want, he would always be the first player chosen in any open draft.
Mahomes is not the only quarter-arre in my top 10. There are four. The others are Josh Allen (4), Lamar Jackson (6) and Joe Burrow (7). They are the elite of NFL passers -by and clearly a group in front of the rest.
The rest of the top 10 is made up of two rushers on board, one rear and two receivers. For the first time for a long time, there is no offensive line player, but some were close.
By assembling this list, which started as the list of first 50 back when I started at CBS in the early 2000s, one thing is clear: there is not much star power in the league at the moment. What we have is a large group of very good players classified from 20 to 60. It was the most difficult part to make these rankings. Many of these players are grouped, so baning them was difficult.
Immerse yourself and take a look and take it as angry and nasty as you wish. I know it happens. Any list like this does this – and I have been doing it for a long time.
