Terry Wilson, who played nine seasons in the CFL and helped the Calgary Stampeders Winning the Gray 1971 Cup died.
The Stampeders said in a statement that Wilson died Wednesday after a long illness. He was 83 years old.
Wilson joined the Stampeders in 1968 after four years with Edmonton and played 76 regular season competitions for Calgary.
He had 16 interceptions as a member of the Stampeders, including seven choices at the top of the team in 1970.

He was a key contributor to the Stampeders championship in 1971 with an interception in the first match of the final of the Best of the Three West with the Saskatchewan and three plated, a forced escape and a pass in the victory of the Gray on Toronto Cup.

Born in Montreal and raised in San Francisco, Wilson played as a defensive end, a defensive back and a half-back during his career.
