All the firefighters and ambulances of Temple Fire Medical Rescue now transport new RCR technology to help save lives in emergencies.
Technology is the Lucas automated chest compression system, which can reduce fatigue associated with manual RCR.
The use of the device increases the chances of survival of a person by providing coherent RCR compressions and maintaining traffic as the first stakeholders move a patient.
Deputy chief Kevin Bailey Jr. says that time is important in a cardiac arrest situation and that the device provides “best overall health results”.
The city says it is Metro Phoenix’s first fire service to fully equip its vehicles with the devices.
