Former adolescent Idol Joey Lawrence regrets that he and his two famous brothers used a stage name, revealing that changing their family name has become “pain in the ass”.
Joey, 48, Matthew, 45, and Andrew Lawrence, 37 According to a report by Entertainment Weekly.
“(Lawrence) was my second name,” Joey, born Joseph Lawrence Mignogna, said during a panel in the 90s group in Hartford, in Connecticut on Friday.
“So, I was appointed according to our father and our grandfather on the side of our father. And in the early 80s, it was like:” No one can pronounce cute. It is not a name that people will say. “”

The brothers admitted that navigating in the industry would have been “easier” if they had kept their surname given at birth.
“It’s really pain in the ass, honestly, having two names,” said Andrew during the panel. “You must prove that you are both people.”
Matthew added that trips was a nightmare, revealing that he had trouble traveling around the world.
“Now I’m just stuck with two different names, and I can’t travel internationally,” said Matthew. “For a while, the government only recognized me as Matt Lawrence because I paid taxes from the moment I was a young child at 18 as Matt Lawrence. But really, my name is Matthew William Mingnogna. So, when I grew up and used my real name on my passport, there was absolutely no correlation.”
Joey admitted that their name change probably would not have arrived if they had joined the entertainment industry at the time.
“Today, things like it are celebrated,” said Joey. “In the 80s, it was like:” We will have to water this. There is a silent GS. Because you spell our last name (cute) as a cute net. So they said to themselves: “Let’s call him Joey Lawrence. So that’s exactly what they did, and with these guys, it made sense. “”

But there are advantages to keep their real family name out of the public’s eyes.
Their parents knew that the false name could have made it difficult for obsessed fans to locate the ancient stars of the child.
“I also think that my parents, and wisely, (knew) that there was an insulation factor, where, before the internet, you could hide behind that, you know, at school,” said Matthew. “Some people could verify the old -fashioned means, but it would be very, very difficult to find us.”
Joey made his debut in the entertainment sector in the 1980s by acting in “Diff’Rent Strokes” and “Oliver & Company”.
He then became a teenager’s heart in the 90s when he was thrown into “Blossom” and “Fraternel Love”.
Matthew Lawrence played Chris Hillard in the 1993 comedy “Mme Doubtfire”, Jack Hunter in “Boy Meets World” and Billy in “The Hot Chick”.
Andrew is known to be the voice of Theodore J. “TJ” Deweiler in the animated series “Recret” and Eric Russo in “Hawaii Five-0”.
