Amy Walter:
RIGHT. Okay, so far from the mid-term elections of 2026, you should be careful not to read too much, in particular the subjects and problems that people are talking about today are unlikely to be the subjects we are going to talk about in November.
One thing, however, it will be really important is to look at the participation rate. Now, what we have known in this Trump period is that in the lower participation elections, that a state -of -the -art court race in April is normally, Democrats tend to have an advantage now. And it is because the democratic basic voter tends to be older, they tend to be more educated, easier.
These are voters who present themselves in the elections after the elections. Trump’s main base is people who do not always appear in the out of year elections. They appear in the presidential elections. It is therefore a very big test to see if the Trump coalition will really take place.
And Elon Musk spends a lot of money by doing exactly that, arguing that they can really bring people who do not normally pay much attention to policy without Donald Trump outside the sofa and in the place of voting.
