Metro surfers blast And Pop angry sliced The Outplay Entertainment developers have dismissed 21 employees.
The Scottish studio confirmed the news in a E-mail sent to Mobilegamer.biz And said the layoffs were made in response to “current commercial realities”.
“This step has been taken to align our operations on current commercial realities and to support a strategic transition to the partnership with publishers for future game trips,” wrote Douglas Hare, CEO of Ouvre-Ouvi in the email.
“It was not a decision that we made lightly. We are incredibly grateful to the talented people affected, many of whom have made lasting contributions to our games and our culture. We do everything we can to support them thanks to this transition.”
Outplay was created in 2010 and is based in Dundee. The company takes place as the largest independent mobile studio in the United Kingdom and says its list of titles has raised more than 160 million downloads to date. He is now joining a Choir of other studios around the world to make layoffs.
These cuts are frequently made to adapt to what companies often call “opposite winds” or the “commercial realities” of an industry that always counts with the overexinction and bad bets manufactured by decision -makers during the pandemic.
In recent months, companies like People Can Fly, EA, Niantic, Playtime, Meta, Mighty Yell, Devolver and Playside, Kiss and Cyan Worlds have all made important cuts. This is unfortunately a trend that has become something of a permanent element in the video game industry.
