QUINCY – The research class and the club of the Quincy High School in Sciences demonstrated an exceptional achievement at the Fair of Regional Sciences on March 22, with eight on nine projects which progressed to the State competition.
DIYA NANJAPPA, whose project was “a study on the field examining the factors involved in the drop in oaks in exotic growing oaks in North America”, received a student prize for geoscience excellence, the prize for the science project of the NASA Earth Science system, the price of the United States association Metric Association, the most high -end scientific coach place of first place.
The first prize for the Nanjappa show allows him to participate in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) competition in Columbus, Ohio. She is the first student of Quincy High School to participate in ISEF.
Issa Geisndorfer presented “Bacteriophagus Bandages: a restorative solution to antibiotic resistant infections” and obtained the Air Force success certificate and the price of biomedical science Regeneron $ 375.
The partners Xavier Richardson and Camdon Bowen were recognized for their project “Microplastics Effect on the regeneration of the growth of Planaria” with the Ricoh Sustainable Development Award and the Junior Water price for regional.
Tamim Nusrat obtained the third best of his project for his project “Exploration of the effects of properties in dragon fruits on amyloid beta protein to reduce the development rate of Alzheimer’s disease”.
Nishtah Patel, Nitya Patel, Medha Pujar, Anish Podaralla, Anshu Podaralla and Anika Reddy have won blue ribbons and will go to state competition.
Special recognition goes to Christopher Tu for his participation in the competition.
The state competition will take place at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana on May 2 to 3.
The scientific research course was introduced this year. The club has been thriving for four years, continuing to promote excellence in scientific exploration.
