SLIPPERY ROCK, PA. — Allegheny Health Network Primary Care Institute clinicians now operate the Slippery Rock University Student Health Center, providing convenient on-campus access to high-quality care. This partnership aims to improve access and services to health care for SRU students.
The Student Health Center, led by medical director and family physician Dr. Sunjay Mannan, now has a team of experienced AHN registered nurses and advanced practice providers. Services offered include same-day treatment for common illnesses and injuries; preventive care such as annual medical exams, screenings and vaccinations; and ongoing support for people dealing with chronic illnesses, women’s health issues and mental health issues.
“This partnership demonstrates AHN’s commitment to providing accessible, high-quality care to the communities we serve,” said Dr. Amy Crawford-Faucher, president of the AHN Primary Care Institute. “By bringing the expertise of AHN clinicians directly to campus, we aim to foster a healthier and even more productive learning environment for SRU students.” »
The Student Health Center, now located in the renovated Campus Success Center, is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. For urgent needs outside of these hours, students will have 24/7 access. to telehealth services through MyChart, offering virtual consultations with AHN providers.
For health conditions requiring more advanced care, seamless referral to the nearby AHN Grove City Hospital Emergency Department will be facilitated.
