The coalition of arts, entertainment and media industries (AEMI) within the Department of Professional Employees (DPE) published a declaration Wednesday sentenced the Trump administration Budget proposal calling for the elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for Humanités (NEH) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
The coalition is made up of 12 national unions representing workers in the arts, entertainment and media industries, and is led by DPE. Trump’s budget request in 2026 requests the wholesale of NEA, NEH and CPB, as well as other federal and regional cultural agencies.
“Unions are ready to combat efforts to eliminate NEA, NEH and CPB,” said the AEMI coalition. “Non -profit arts, human sciences and public media benefit from broad bipartite public support because they fuel local economies in each state and widen access to quality artistic and educational content through communities….
