Jeff Todd, Director of Development at Launch Entertainment, shares insight into his career, accomplishments and industry trends ahead of his appearance at the Restaurant Franchising & Innovation Summit 2025.
Today we shine the spotlight on Jeff Todd, Director of Development at Launch Entertainment. Ciancio will be a speaker at the next Restaurant Franchise and Innovation Summitwhich will take place March 11-13, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He will be a panelist in a breakout session titled “Diversify your restaurant’s sources of income.”
We thought it would be fun to get to know Todd better before his appearance at RFIS.
Describe your current role.
Jeff Todd is Director of Development at Launch Entertainment, where he oversees all aspects of franchise development, real estate site selection and venue construction. Since joining the company in June 2022, Jeff has led strategic initiatives aimed at expanding Launch’s footprint, strengthening its presence in the family entertainment market.
Prior to Launch, Jeff managed the development of Maaco and Meineke, two leading portfolio companies under Driven Brands, where he honed his expertise in franchise growth, multi-location operations and market strategy. He brings a passion for business development and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, making him a key leader in Launch Entertainment’s continued success.
What was your very first professional role and what important lesson did you learn from it?
My first professional role was as an investment banker with institutions such as PNC, Harris Williams & Co. and Wells Fargo, where I worked closely with private equity firms on leveraged buyouts and advisory missions. Through this experience, I learned how essential it is to have a holistic view of a company’s value, from its operational and financial health to its strategic positioning. By conducting detailed due diligence and aligning the interests of all stakeholders, I have discovered that successful transactions are not just about closing deals, but also creating lasting value for everyone involved.
What inspired you to work in your industry?
I was initially attracted to franchising because it is the perfect balance of entrepreneurship and a proven operating model. After working in finance and seeing so many businesses struggle to grow effectively, I realized that franchising provides a structured growth path for both the franchisor and franchisees. Franchising not only gives ambitious individuals the opportunity to run their own business under a recognized brand, but it also allows the franchisor to replicate its successes in multiple markets. Seeing how this model can create value on both sides of the table is what really inspired me to build my career in franchising.
What do you like most about your current role?
What I enjoy most about my current role is seeing how franchising can truly change people’s lives. Whether it’s helping someone go from one American business to owning multiple franchises or guiding them on the path to financial freedom, it’s incredibly rewarding to see new franchisees realize their franchise dreams. ‘entrepreneur. There is a feeling of empowerment knowing that through franchising – and with the right support – people can build something meaningful for themselves and their families.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to stay active and explore new places. I started whitewater kayaking, which is very exciting and allows me to get out into nature. I also enjoy playing golf, although my game still needs improvement! I spend as much time as possible with my family and we enjoy traveling together. We recently returned from an incredible trip to Scotland and England, where we had the wonderful chance to immerse ourselves in the rich history and culture of the region.
