Warrensville Heights, Ohio – although people can have a lot of fun at Adrenaline Monkey in Warrensville Heights, owners of the covered amusement park said they had difficulty attracting people in their establishment.
Today, they find ways to go off the beaten track to survive.
“I think they just changed their habits. They started to find all the free activities to do in Cleveland, “said Denise Carkhuff, founder and CEO of Adrenaline Monkey.
A discouraging trend for small entertainment companies like Adrenaline Monkey is what triggered our visit to speak with Denise Carkhuff at the covered amusement park.
“I thought that in 2021, you know, we would prosper. I even wrote an entire article on this subject. “Oh, we survived COVID. Now we are going to prosper in 2021. “I’m still waiting for success,” said Carkhuff.
We first told you how the Make Believe Family Fun Center of Parma made the difficult decision to close its doors because of a post on Facebook which said that the children’s entertainment center is experiencing a significant increase in operating costs and a drop in customer attendance.

Pam Dean, director general of Adrenaline Monkey, said that they too were faced with similar challenges.
“Things have changed a lot since La Cavid, people go out and do things with the family,” said Dean.
Today, Dean and Carkhuff say that it harms their activity because fewer people come, but the costs of necessities such as insurance, concessions and workers are constantly accumulating.
“All costs have increased, but we cannot increase our prices and we do not get the volume,” said Carkhuff.
You may be wondering: What does Adrenaline Monkey do to survive?
“What we did in response to the COVVI, we have changed it in several ways. We focused on programs that were so significant for people and that are more a need than a desire, “said Carkhuff.
According to Carkhuff and Dean, this approach attracts more people, especially parents and children, to their business, which helps them not only to survive, but also to prosper.
“I myself have children who are content to play video games and who are not at all active half of the time. It is therefore very important for them to move their bodies, ”said Dean.
“Everything we do is really very good, and all those who come here know it. It’s just about letting it know about more people, ”Carkhuff said.
Adrenaline Monkey said they would continue to find ways to attract customers to their business.
In the meantime, they said they were open every day except Tuesday.
