Madera, California (KFSN) – Business is preparing for the Emmie sidewalk coffee.
Originally used exclusively on a set of wheels, the window is an opportunity for the owner Jacqueline Mejia to connect with the community which helped its business to develop.
“We wanted people to feel safe,” she said. “We wanted people to feel that they can come here, spend the day with us.”
Located on Schnoor Street off Avenue 16 in Madera, the Emmie sidewalk coffee specializes in coffee, tea, silts and energy drinks.
“Things that are a little different from your average coffee channel – in this way, I have customers who cannot get this only drink with me,” said Mejia.
The native of Atwater spent five years as Barista before obtaining his university degree and starting a new career, but his love of coffee has fueled his entrepreneurial dreams.
The best sellers are as tasty as they seem.
“The Sea Breeze Latte, which is a salted caramel latte with white chocolate mocha,” said Mejia.
Combine your drink with pastry or bites.
“Our biggest seller is probably the Bols d’Açai or our sandwiches for breakfast,” said Mejia. “We are doing our croissants here. We are also making turkey and cheese croissants here.”
In addition to obtaining a source of locally, it also gives those who helped her to start.
“We are a small business here in Madera-we are trying to keep any room,” she said.
Emmie’s sidewalk coffee is open seven days a week. Coffee is also available for community events.
