The NFIB provides a platform for independent small business owners to speak out on public policy issues that affect their business. As a new Congress and administration take shape, NFIB provides lawmakers with a list of top small business legislative priorities, based on what NFIB members voted for in member ballots.
NFIB’s top legislative priority is to stop a massive small business tax hike at the end of the year if the 20% small business tax deduction expires. This deduction is crucial and in a recent NFIB Research Center survey, 81% of small business owners think it is important. Other key legislative policies in the NFIB Growth Agenda include:
- Work
- Regulatory reform and heavy regulations
- Health care
- Market competition
