University Park, Pennsylvania-Penn State Campus Recreation announced that six of its club sports teams won national championships during the 2024-25 academic year, presenting the dedication, talent and management of its students athletes.
The cricket club, club cycling, club gymnastics, club athletics, basketball teams from baseball and male club and male club have each won national titles at home this season.
“These achievements reflect the strength of the sports community of the Penn State club, as well as the dedication of students who work hard to balance competitive training with academic excellence,” said Steve Kampf, Senior Campus Director. “The championships testify to the impact of sports led by students on our campus, offering significant opportunities for the development of leadership, personal growth and competitive results.”
According to Kampf, the resources provided by the University Park Fee Board play an essential role in improving programming for more than 55 club sports and more than 2,000 students per year.
“Thanks to this support, club sports teams continue to thrive, offering dynamic engagement opportunities and enriching the overall students’ experience in Penn State,” said Kampf.
