Shell Energy ended its residential electricity activity in Texas less than three years after the launch.
A Shell spokesperson confirmed to the Houston public media on Monday that Shell Energy Solutions no longer offered electricity plans to Texas residents.
“We can confirm that Shell Energy has signed an agreement to sell his customer residential book to Ercot in NRG,” wrote the spokesperson. “Within the framework of our increased concentration on the performance and more solid capital and cost discipline, we will no longer provide electricity plans for residential customers on the ERCOT market.”

Shell Energy Solutions began to operate in Texas in 2022 after acquiring MP2 Energy in 2017.
