


The Drake University and the National Secretariat of Sciences, Technology and Innovation of Panama (Senacyt) formalized a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening academic quality and technological innovation.
The agreement, signed by Dr. Eduardo Ortega Barría, National Secretary of Senacyt, and Marty Martin, president of Drake University, establishes a roadmap for joint efforts to promote and implement the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (AI) of Panama, aligned with the country’s efforts to strengthen its technological innovation capacities and its digital capacities.
“Responsible global citizenship is enrolled in our mission to Drake University, and we are approaching global engagement in a way that takes advantage of our key forces to meet specific educational and societal needs around the world,” said Annique Kiel, Director of World Affairs and Dean of Global Programs at Drake University. “We are grateful for collaboration with Senacyt and are incredibly optimistic about the future of our work in Panama.”
The agreement includes collaboration on programs and activities that promote training in emerging technologies, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and data analysis, to strengthen human resources and technical capacities of Panama.
Among the objectives of the agreement are the promotion of the national Panama AI strategy, supporting it the academic programs of Drake University in Panama and collaboration through the exchange of knowledge, joint seminars and guest conferences.
Drake and Senacyt University undertake to contribute their knowledge, resources and capacities to stimulate these initiatives for their mutual advantage and in accordance with their institutional missions.
