“Saturday Night Live” famous 50 years. How to look at the celebration

Fifty seasons of sketches “Saturday Night Live”, songs and special guests will be celebrated on Sunday while the variety show celebrates its birthday.

The mastodon of pop culture has launched the career of generations of actors, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig and many Canadians, including Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short and Norm Macdonald.

Many of these stars will be at hand for “SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration”, broadcast live from New York on Sunday from 8 p.m. to the east and at 5 p.m. Pacific.

The three -hour extravagance occurs after months of celebrations of “Saturday Night LiveWhich presented his first on October 11, 1975, with an original casting which included John Belushi, Chevy Chase and Gilda Radner.

Each episode “SNL” contains at least a few surprises, and the Sunday’s special is no different.

While NBC has revealed some of the stars that should appear, many of the special moments, cameras and musical performances remain a surprise.

Sunday, NBC announced more appearances in the guests, notably Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Leslie Jones, Billy Crystal, Dear, the Canadian Mike Myers and Alec Baldwin, who holds the title of the person who welcomed the greatest number of “SNL”.

NBC will be broadcast “SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration” on Sunday from 8 p.m. to the east and at 5 p.m. Pacific. The anniversary show will also broadcast on Peacock.

A red carpet show animated by the former “SNL” Leslie Jones and Willie Geist from NBC News will precede the special, from 7 p.m. in the east on NBC and Peacock.

Generations of “SNL” stars should come back for the Sunday special.

NBC says that in addition to Murphy and Fey, you can expect: Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg, Chris Rock, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, Jimmy Fallon, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, Pete Pete Davidson, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Will Ferrell and Will Forte.

The current member of the Kenan Thompson distribution will also appear.

Some members of the first casting “Saturday Night Live”, known as “Not Ready for Prime Time Players”, will appear, including Chase, Loraine Newman, Garrett Morris and Jane Curtin.

A publicist for Dan Aykroyd, the only remaining surviving member, did not respond to a request for comments on the presence of his participation.

Steve Martin, who has left an indelible comic brand on “SNL” over the years, will be among the many successful hosts returning for the 50th celebration of the show.

Other prolific and return hosts range from actors like Tom Hanks, Martin Short and Scarlett Johansson (who is married to the current member of the “SNL” distribution Colin Jost) to athletes like Peyton Manning.

The former writer “SNL” John Mulaney will appear, just like Will Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Kim Kardashian, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Quinta Brunson, Robert de Niro and Woody Harrelson.

SNL’s musical heritage was also honored on Friday when Radio City Music Hall welcomed the “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” with a program that understood dear, Miley Cyrus, ArcadeDavid Byrne, Post Malone and Nirvana.

Sunday’s special will include appearances of Paul McCartney, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Cyrus and other music stars, although the show has not said if everything would happen.

The musical heritage of “SNL” is also explored in the documentary “Ladies and Gentlemen – 50 years of SNL Music”, in difficulty currently on Peacock.
