At the Spears School of Business, excellence is not only an aspiration – it becomes a tradition.
Thanks to its industry teachers, former committed and the dedication of leadership and staff, the Oklahoma State University business programs have flipped into the national and global ranking.
The last will came in January when the US News & World report listed Spears Business in a match n ° 8 on its list of the best online baccalaureate programs, the highest placement of the college in the history of the ranking.
“This historical ranking reflects the extraordinary commitment of our entire Spears business community,” said Dr. Marlys Mason, dean of Spears companies for undergraduate programs. “From our teachers and staff devoted to our former committed students and generous donors, each has played an essential role in the elevation of our online first cycle programs. The Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence have been particularly decisive in the transformation of the way in which we provide exceptional commercial education to students where they are. ”
As Mason noted, the ranking of the 10 best is largely due to the Michael and Anne Greenwood Center for Online Excellence, which offers students access to high quality commercial education, regardless of their schedule or their location while retaining the business of Spears Personal Touch.
In all, US News & World Report has ranked 219 schools on its list of the best online first cycle business programs, and Spears Business ranked seventh among public institutions. The OSU was at the top of Oklahoma and only after the Arizona State University among the peers of the Big 12 conference.
The undergraduate programs were not the only climbers. The OSU online MBA has increased five places in the list of online MBA programs of the US News & World report of 2025, linking n ° 11 at the national level – the best classification of the school. The Spears Business MBA ranked ninth among public universities.
The OSU online MBA continues its ascent, climbing n ° 40 (2020), n ° 32 (2021), n ° 28 (2022), n ° 27 (2023) and n ° 16 (2024).
US News & World Report also classified the MBA program of OSU n ° 8 nationally for veterans. The OSU online MBA in Business Analytics jumped five points in equality for No. 15.
In order not to be outdone, the MBA in person of the OSU jumped 18 places in n ° 58 in the US News & World reports of the best full -time MBA programs.
Spears Business also offers one of the best -classified data mastery programs in the country. The mastery in person of the OSU in commercial analysis and data science (MS bands) was classified n ° 2 in the best mastery in science of fortune.com for 2025, following only the University of Harvard. The MS Bands program has climbed 11 places since last year to reach its best ranking.
With an acceptance rate of 31.48% and a 100% retention rate, the MS Bands program uses cutting -edge business level analysis software. Students apply data analysis skills to the real world’s business problems, constantly winning prizes in national and global competitions.
Over the past four years, almost 100% of Ms. Bands graduates have obtained full -time jobs within six months of graduation. The program prospered under the direction of the award -winning director, Dr. Goutam Chakraborty.
“Although our program has been regularly classified among the first 20 in the last three years by Fortune and others, this is the first time that we have been at number 2 by fortune,” said Chakraborty. “We are humiliated by this exceptional success, which is made possible due to the quality and the hard work of our students and our dedicated teachers and staff.”
The Hotel and Tourism Management School has also recently taken an important stage as a program of the 10 best United States, the school, which joined Spears Business in 2019, is classified n ° 8 on a national scale and n ° 22 in the world, according to the global classification of academic materials by Shanghairanking.
This world ranking n ° 22 gives HTM the highest international ranking of all OSU programs.
“The program is attached to the tradition of excellence and continues to be one of the first academic units in the world,” said Dr. Brij Thapa, Professor and Carl and Marilynn Thoma Distinguished Chair, who directs HTM. “Integrating high -quality publications and / or convincing practical ideas, teachers focus on identifying solutions with persistent challenges and widening the knowledge base for industry, governments, communities and the university world.
These rankings coincide with record registration numbers for Spears Business, which increased to 6,582 undergraduate students and graduates in the fall of 2024, making it the largest college of the OSU campus. This figure includes the greatest first year class in school history, with 1,034 first -year students.
The MBA program of the OSU continues to see unprecedented growth, with an increase of 124% of online registrations since 2020. In 2024-25, 418 students took online MBA lessons via OSU.
