If you have already wondered who directs “Rage State”, it’s not me. My existence at the State University of San Diego is comfortable, cute and simple. I am a third year student who prefers to go to class that the Aquaplex and who must be educated daily in the Argot de Norcal. We call our college “The Homestead”, where I would spend with pleasure the rest of my days under the happiness of the sun of our backyard.
Naturally, it’s time to add a wrinkle.
This semester, I decided to train for the San Diego Beach & Bay half-marathon on April 12. As a runner ever technical. Official training was not necessary for the annual Thanksgiving turkey trot of my family or walks in the districts of my hometown.
This company is different. He is thirteen miles of real race, and that’s mine. But it is also that of San Diego. And it is all the middle school students who try to understand where health falls on their growing scales of personal priorities.
One of the things I really admire in this southernmost city is the way fitness has influenced cultural and community landscapes, creating a lifestyle where well-being is important. Whether through the Run Club PB, climbing and cycling in our mountains in the County East, the Falaise Yoga in Tourmaline or Cardio Dance at Aztec Recreation Center, how you move things. I can’t wait to learn how the race connects me deeper to my adopted house.

To launch the big race, I promised to stick to a calendar: a short term at the beginning of the week, and a long race at the end, which I invented with love my “long term Friday!” In an attempt to strike all the classic spots in San Diego, I used these long races to double as weekend adventures.
I explored the Beach mission covering band in Pacific, I lived from Windansea Beach to the covas of the Jolla, and I got lost once in the bay and I found myself in a area fenced behind Seaworld (True History … and certainly did not mean for the runners).
While I liked the view of our city in the comfort of my two feet, I understand that during the week, busy students must remain simple. This is why Lake Murray is a large getaway in the backyard of the campus. This six -thousand trail is a ten -minute drive from “The Homestead” and has a quick training race. I generally like to see two miles before turning around, making it a perfect four all before the afternoon lessons.
Until April, I am here to document the disorderly journey to become something that I never thought that I could be, tests, errors, lost nails and everything. Run with me while I sail in the balance between a experienced student while creating a new habit, which will allow me to explore what health means for San Diego.
