Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she had moved from the United States in Ireland, where she asked for citizenship following the second term of President Trump.
“When you know that it is sure that all citizens have equal rights in America, this is when we consider returning,” O’Donnell told nine minutes Shared video on Tiktok. She said she was “very grateful” to have found a new house in Ireland, adding that “people here are so loving, kind and welcoming”.
While O’Donnell has made it clear that his resettlement was due to the state of politics in the United States, the Emmy winner never mentioned President Trump by name. She said about the current state of American policy: “It was heartbreaking to see what is going on there politically and hard for me personally.”
O’Donnell also cited its nerves around Tiktok potentially “leave” and the state of the media under the administration of the new hostility towards them as reasons to leave states.
“The consumer media have dropped us all falling to America, where the fourth domain is necessary to maintain a democracy,” she said. “They did not do their job.”
She continued: “I encourage everyone to get up, to use her voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the Constitution in our country, and not a king and not a man and we have no cruelty in the context of our style of governance.”
O’Donnell closed his message by encouraging his supporters not to be wrapped in the constant and often chaotic cover of politics.
“Protect your mental health as much as you can and try not to swim in chaos, if possible,” said O’Donnell. “But I know it’s almost impossible when you are there in the middle.”
