How they came to this decision
With the constantly evolving environment of regional sports networks broadcasting local MLB games – and the income linked to it – the Mariners have been exploring streaming options for years.
The navies, who increased their participation in root by around 70% to 100% during the 2023-24 offseason, long depended on fans that are being thinking of cable outlets such as Comcast XFINITY and DIRECTV to access ROOT. But with this landscape undergoing many changes over the years for various reasons, the objective of a direct option for consumers has become an absolute priority.
“We know that fans look forward to the opening day of the Navy, and we are delighted to offer them another way of accessing it,” said Sabrina Taylor, vice-president of the Root Affiliate and RSN, in a statement.
