Rit recently organized AI and the Data Sciences Summit in collaboration with VELLORE INSTITUTE OF VELLORE (Vit) in Chennai, India, January 7-9.
The three -day event included subjects such as AI applications in health care, ethical AI in linguistic models, AI in education, IA harness for industry and others. A diverse group of teachers and RIT staff was present, representing the College of Art and Design,, Science College,, Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences,, Kate Gleason College of Engineering,, National Technical Institute for Deaf,, Liberal Arts College,, Saunders College of BusinessAnd College of Engineering Technology. The interdisciplinary group presented the commitment of Rit to study, build and test the possibilities of the AI.
The summit focused on the ambitious objective of establishing a joint center of excellence in AI between the two university institutions. The center would be a center for pioneering research, innovative education and important industrial associations in AI and data science.

By taking advantage of the expertise of teachers and researchers from the two establishments, the proposed collaboration aims to solve critical problems and give students the skills necessary to excel in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The partnership is added to the diversified global scope of RIT. Since the fall of 2024, international students have come from 103 different countries, with more than half of the students from India. Registration at World Rit Campus In Dubai, Croatia, Kosovo and China have had a regular increase, offering many global opportunities to students and RIT teachers to improve their education and their research.
