Oklahoma launches “to make Oklahoma healthy”

Governor Kevin Stitt and HHS secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. launched a health initiative aimed at combating chronic disease and promoting personal health responsibility in Oklahoma.

“Oklahoma is 47th in health in the United States … and it’s not a good thing,” said RFK Jr.

Chronic disease called “national emergency”

RFK JR drew attention to chronic conditions in children and adults, pointing to ultra-transformed foods as a key cause.

“When my uncle was president … 3% of Americans had a chronic illness. Today, 60% do it,” said RFK Jr.

“We poison them en masse. We do this to them. “

Instructions decrees and reforms

Governor Stitt has announced the main changes in state policy:

  1. Oklahoma has submitted a renunciation of a snap to eliminate soda, candy and confections from the food lists purchased by the state.
  2. An executive decree indicates:
  3. State health officials cease to recommend fluoride in water.
  4. All meals funded by the State (including schools and prisons) to interrupt the use of artificial dyes.

“It’s common sense,” said Stitt. “Our taxes will not continue to finance foods that make people sick.”

Link between food and mental health

RFK Jr. shared how the diet affects not only physical health but mental, citing studies by correctional establishments showing spectacular declines of violence and suicide after food improvements.

“Food not only poisons our health, but our mental health.”

The call to personal responsibility

RFK Jr. and Stitt both underlined a basic approach to health:

“Real changes must come from the responsibility of individual Americans for their health,” said RFK Jr.

“We want to make sure that Oklahoma opens the way,” added Stitt.
