Respiratory virus
Viruses that cause respiratory diseases, such as those that cause COVID-19, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), are generally propagated in autumn and winter. Anyone can get an infected respiratory virus infecture, but some people are more at risk of serious illness. Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) recommends the following actions to protect you and protect others:
- Stay up to date with vaccines
- Stay at home, if sick
- Go hand
- Cover the cough and sneezing
- Consider carrying a mask if you are at high risk for serious illness

- The activity of respiratory diseases is very high at Kentucky.
- Emergency services meetings for acute respiratory diseases are high and increased.
- The flu has increased and epidemics were reported on the state scale.
- The strains of flu A are currently dominant. Influenza laboratories with information of strain subtype, 50% is one (H1) and 50% are A (H3).
