The new research of talent solutions and business consulting consulting consulting Robert Half reveals that a shortage of skilled technological talent obstructs the capacity of companies to achieve strategic objectives and to modernize their operations. According to Robert Half 2025 Build technological teams in the future Report, 74% of technology leaders with hiring plans recruit to support business growth, but 87% report the difficulty in finding qualified candidates.
Important priorities for technological leaders
The report identifies the following as the main priorities for technology leaders in 2025:
- IT systems and information security: Following threats of rapidly evolving cybersecurity requires advanced safety measures and expertise.
- AI, Automatic learning and automation: These initiatives are essential to improve productivity and allow intelligent work flows.
- Governance of AI: Organizations must ensure that AI tools and systems are deployed ethically, transparent and responsible.
- Modernization of technology: Updating of inherited tools, systems and processes is essential to stimulate innovation and efficiency.
- Cloud initiatives: Cloud technology is fundamental for growth and scaling operations and improving processes and support functions.
“Organizations require specialized technical expertise to respond to commercial priorities, modernize IT operations and stimulate innovation,” said Ryan Half Executive Director. “The construction of a new generation team requires a strategic plan – not only for hiring good talents but also for the development of internal teams to maintain momentum on key initiatives.”
Technical debt and skills difference have continuous challenges
Fifty -five percent of technology leaders cite a technical debt – the need to modernize technological systems and operations – as a major obstacle to carrying out their strategic priorities in 2025. The resolution of this problem requires skills specialized in fields such as the development of AI, Cloud architecture and cybersecurity. However, 76% of technology chiefs identified skills gaps within their team, especially in:
- AI, Automatic learning and data science (44%)
- IT operations and support (39%)
- Cybersecurity and privacy (30%)
Digital transformation and business resources planning
Company systems and ERP play an essential role in digital transformation and computer modernization, supplying talent demand with expertise and specialized skills. According to the report, 75% of technology chiefs expect this request to increase in 2025. However, 92% report that the challenges of hiring for roles related to ERP. The best obstacles include:
- Find candidates with an ERP module experience
- Meet the wage expectations of candidates
- Evaluation of candidates’ skills
“ERP platforms have gone from back office systems to cloud-based dynamic solutions that connect all business functions,” added Sutton. “The intelligent and integrated ERPs of today provide real -time ideas, allow decision -making led by AI and support agile operations – make them essential to modern IT infrastructure. However, finding qualified professionals with this expertise remains a challenge, which encourages many organizations to rely on flexible consultants and endowment solutions to maintain these projects on the track and support for wider digital objectives. ”
