Representative Martin votes to devote protections for female sports
State representative David W. Martin (R-Davison) voted today to protect female sports in Michigan. The bills of the Chamber 4066 and 4469 would prohibit biological men from participating in the sports of girls’ secondary school and would integrate the protections of the title IX for female sports in the Michigan Elliott-Lasen Civil Rights Act.
“We owe our daughters to keep them safe and provide them with uniform playground,” said Martin. “The vast majority of the public knows that it is common sense. We cannot allow a small faction of radicals to compromise the security and the success of our daughters for their ideology. ”
The two bills adopted the Michigan Chamber on Thursday afternoon and will go to the Senate.
“I will always support female sports and guaranteed rights under title IX,” said Martin. “Women have fought for years to get these protections and have their own sports programs, and I will continue to fight to protect the sports of women against mediocre male athletes.”
