Rainy weather disrupts NH sports leagues this season

The rain of this spring was difficult in sports leagues through New Hampshire. Officials with the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association said it was a challenge this season by reprogramming so many games that have also been postponed due to the weather due to the rain. A match was scheduled for Friday evening when unequal thunderstorms moved to the region, and the games initially scheduled for Saturday were pushed on Sunday. The Appaloosa horse salon scheduled for this weekend in Deerfield has also been canceled.

The rain of this spring was difficult in the sports leagues of New Hampshire.

The officials of the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association said it was a challenge this season by reprogramming so many games that have been postponed due to the weather.

The problem was aggravated due to graduation ceremonies which were also to be reprogrammed because of the rain. Certain sporting events take place in the same places as graduation ceremonies.

The NHIAA said that most regular season matches were not affected, but the last section of the school year was difficult.

“It’s difficult,” said Jeff Collins, executive director of the NHIAA. “I couldn’t tell you exactly how many postpones there were. It’s just numerous.”
