Purdue to launch a new construction technology program management program model in Indianapolis

Responding to a critical need for a ready-to-use workforce, Purdue creates the next wave of construction industry leaders

Indianapolis – imposing skyscrapers and high -capacity sports arenas for industrial parks and ubiquitous playgrounds throughout the city, new construction is a constant in Indianapolis. For a metropolis with nearly $ 5 billion in the development pipeline, a critical need appeared for the expertise of leadership and management in the construction industry. The Purdue University packed this void with the official launch of the rethought construction technology program in Indianapolis.

Offered outside the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, the program will help Purdue students in Indianapolis to acquire the skills necessary to be leaders in the field of high -tech construction at the rapid rate. Students will learn to successfully manage construction projects, from conceptual budgets to daily operations for rolling and completion of the project, acquire the knowledge and critical training necessary to accelerate the growth of the industry – in the heart of Indianapolis.

“At Purdue Polytechnic, our goal is to develop graduates ready for industry that are equipped to meet the challenges of the real world,” said Daniel Castro, Purdue Polytechnic Dean. “This construction technology management technology program redesigned in Indianapolis, in partnership with the Indiana labor development department, reflects our commitment to students a rigorous study program that allows them to Solving problems, improving processes and becoming opinion leaders, and significant vocational education and training meets the essential requirements of the growing construction industry. »»

Capitalizing the proximity of industry companies and leaders in Indianapolis, the construction management technology program aims to become one of the first of its kind to offer apprenticeship recorded in construction management. Purdue students in Indianapolis, and those who will make West Lafayette’s trek, could “win and learn” by collecting a salary while being supervised, trained and supervised as apprenticeship by companies based in Indiana. Plans also potentially include providing pre-learning programs in secondary schools in the Indiana center, creating advanced placement routes in the program for potential students.

Focus on the leadership aspect of the industry, the Construction Management Technology Program in Indianapolis will generate a ready-to-use workforce, project managers, site organizers and managers of health and safety, among many other professional roles.

“Listening to the leaders in the construction industry throughout the city, we knew that there was an urgent need for skilled workers in this particular area,” said David Umulis, main vice-print university for Indianapolis. “The rethought construction management technology program underlines the fundamental objective of our urban expansion in Indianapolis – establish links and opportunities for Purdue students in high demand career areas while creating a direct talent pipeline boilermaker for employers in the center of Indiana. ”

The program in Indianapolis will be officially relaunched in the fall for the transition of students in current construction technology, the first full class of first year entering the program during the 2026-27 academic year.
