New Brunswick Prime Minister Susan Holt said that 25% Chinese prices on Canadian seafood products are “concern and important”.
Holt has told journalists today that China is one of the main export markets in New Brunswick for seafood, but not as important as the United States.
The province claims to have exported $ 87.8 million in seafood to China in 2023.
The prices of China, which have entered into force today, are in retaliation for the recently imposed Canadian surcharge of 100% on all electric manufacturing vehicles, and 25% in steel and aluminum.

Chinese tasks affect a long list of products such as lobster, snow crab and shrimp, as well as niche products such as sea cucumber, brothel and molluscs.

Holt says that she asks the federal government to work closely with New Brunswick during negotiations with China for the prices to be deleted.
