Washington, DC-The member of the Congress Richard Hudson (NC-09), president of the communications and technology subcommittee, presented the following opening declaration at today’s audience entitled AI in the daily life: current application and future borders in communication and technology.

Declaration of opening of the president of the Hudson subcommittee as being prepared for delivery:

“Hello, and welcome to the audience of today’s subcommittee on the examination of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it is used in the communications and technology industries.

“AI is a hot topic at the moment, not only in this country, but around the world. Although we know that AI has been used in different industries for many years, recent progress in large -language models, automatic learning and generative AI have pushed this technology under the spotlight, capturing public attention and transforming our way of living and working.

“The applications of this new technology are widespread and we continue to find new ways that AI can be used to benefit the lives of Americans.

“Whether you know it or not, almost everyone uses AI in our daily life. Like when you use Chatgpt to create a shopping list or ask Siri for directions, but more specifically, the carpooling you have called uses AI to find the fastest route depending on traffic models.

“Or how your mobile phone provider uses AI to reduce harmful interference on the spectrum to your phone, ensuring that there is no forfeiture in service.

“The entertainment industry uses AI to predict what types of content viewers can appreciate and motivate decisions at the time when this content must be produced. It is used to develop content and improve the publishing process.

“Even the National Football League uses AI to create the perfect calendar to limit unnecessary trips for players, create a uniform playground for teams and maximize the accessibility of fans for biggest games.

“As the request for AI increases, we must consider the physical infrastructure necessary to continue the advanced development of the AI.

“Requests for storage capacity and energy consumption in the data centers should skyrocket by 2030 due to the increased use of AI. As data capacity increases, we will need robust optical and wireless fiber connectivity to ensure that new powerful AI systems can reach their full potential.

“But the United States is not the only country to develop an advanced AI. China. China recently published its Deepseek IA model, which has shown their progress.

“Our adversaries will not stop to undermine our leadership in technological progress and use AI to threaten our way of life. We must continue to innovate and develop to prevent this from happening.

“Competition in AI is a global problem, and it is imperative that the United States manages its leadership.

“To do this, we must promote an environment where IA companies can innovate, compete and excel on the world scene. Like the light regulatory key that has given birth to the Internet and some of the most successful and the most advanced companies on the planet, AI must have the same opportunity to ensure that American companies establish the standard for the rest of the world.

“It is an exciting period and opportunity to talk about these problems. Navigating these new and scalable technologies will not be without challenges, but we must meet them head on.

“Innovation has brought incalculable advantages to Americans and our economy. Today, we will hear our witnesses on how artificial intelligence is used in the telecommunications, technology and media industries, as well as what is necessary in the United States to maintain its leadership in the development of AI models.

“I now give my colleague for five minutes, the member of the Doris Matsui ranking, for his declaration of opening.”
