Today, we are launching the AI program for anthropic science – a new initiative designed to accelerate scientific research and discovery thanks to access to our API. This program will provide free API credits to support researchers working on scientific projects with high impact, with a particular emphasis on biology and life science applications.

Why the AI for science?

In Anthropic, we believe that AI has the potential to significantly accelerate scientific progress. Advanced capacities of AI reasoning and language can help researchers analyze complex scientific data, generate hypotheses, design experiences and more effectively communicate the results. By reducing the time and resources necessary for scientific discovery, we can help to meet some of the most urgent challenges of humanity.

This initiative aligns with our vision of the construction of AI systems which bring value to humanity, as discussed in our CEO Dario Amodei Loving grace machines. We are particularly interested in supporting applications where AI can help accelerate processes related to understanding complex biological systems, analysis of genetic data, accelerating the discovery of drugs, especially for some of the world’s largest burden of diseases, increasing agricultural productivity, and more.

Program details

The AI for the scientific program will offer important API credits to qualified researchers who will be selected according to their contributions to science, the potential impact of their proposed research and the capacity of AI to significantly accelerate their work.

How to apply

Researchers attached to a research establishment interested in the AI program for science can apply through our request form. Applications will be examined by our team, including experts in the matter in relevant fields.

We look forward to seeing how researchers use our API to push the limits of scientific discovery and create a positive impact in the world.
