Pamela Anderson is surprised by the response she received regarding no longer wearing makeup.
The newly nominated Golden Globes actress, 57, revealed in an interview that she initially stopped wearing makeup as an “experiment,” as she discussed her recent string of no-makeup appearances.
“All of this is kind of how I just started. I just wanted to remember who I was,” Anderson said Entertainment tonight while promoting his new film The last showgirl.
“I mean, I’ve played characters my whole life — I want to play characters in movies, not in my personal life,” she continued in the clip posted to the outlet’s Instagram on Dec. 10 . “I just want to be myself, so it’s an experience. It’s just something that appeals to me – I didn’t even think anyone would notice!
Anderson has been making appearances without makeup at events since she first appeared without makeup during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023.
Anderson’s latest comments come after she showcased another stunning natural look while debuting new bangs at the SAG-AFTRA screening of The last showgirl in West Hollywood on Sunday, December 8.
The actress and activist wore a structured brown cashmere Bottega Veneta dress on the red carpet with a cape silhouette paired with The Canalazzo pumps by Bottega Venetawhich cost $1,150, as she was joined by her film colleagues, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song.
Anderson also appeared without makeup at the 2024 IndieWire Awards in New York on December 5, in a stylish outfit consisting of a navy blue draped dress with lapels and flared sleeves and a short train, black tights and black strappy sandals. The actress was nominated for her role in The last showgirl at the ceremony.

On Monday, December 9, Anderson received his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture for her work in the Gia Coppola-directed film.
Anderson wrote in a statement obtained by PEOPLE following the news, “I share this great nomination with The last showgirl My family, my family and my companions who are working hard in this interesting journey.
