From June 3, the Owensboro museum of science and history will open its doors on Tuesday. Museum officials said the widely widely weekly weekly calendar will offer more opportunities to “beat heat and explore the museum this summer”.

Located at 122 East 2nd Street, the museum will now be open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. is admission to $ 5, while children aged 2 and under come for free.

Executive director Isaac Settle said that the decision to add the hours on Tuesday is something he wanted to do since he entered the role in March.

“On the one hand, it’s more for your money for our members – it adds an additional day,” said Settle. “We are back almost a complete staff, and we have the opportunity to do so. More time than people may have to come here, have fun and learn something is a victory. ”

Settle noted that, although last Tuesday closures have helped adapt to construction and infrastructure projects, many of these improvements – such as elevators and backstage maintenance – are now complete or in progress without disturbing daily operations.

“Some of the things we have worked on is not something that the public necessarily sees, but it is always important,” said Settle. “The opening on Tuesdays had just meaning.”

The museum recently added a new playground for toddlers and an exhibition of interactive boats, which have already proven popular among young guests.

Install families encouraged in search of summer activities to enjoy the additional day.

“We are open-come see us,” he said.
