Oviedo, fla. – Oviedo managers and residents weigh on a bill that would allow containers open in a new district of arts and entertainment.
House bill 4031 allow Oviedo on the park To deliver specialty permits to companies so that people can buy alcoholic beverages and walk with them. It would also create a special area in the city called “Oviedo Arts and Entertainment District”.
The director of the city of Oviedo, Patrick Kelly, said that Oviedo on the park has become an attraction for the region with festivals that bring thousands of years. He said the bill could increase business.
“What he does is that the companies around the park take place in part of this economic advantage of these people coming by allowing them to sell alcoholic beverages, then so that people leave their establishments, then leave and take advantage of the park and festival there,” said Kelly.

Tommy Burton said he visits Oviedo on the park three to four days a week and was in favor of the bill.
“I don’t really see a problem with that because often, it’s not as big as you want,” said Burton. “So, it’s sometimes overcrowded when you sit there, but if you could catch it and then come and sit near the lake, it would be another story.”
But not everyone feels the same thing.
“I am not for that, only because it is an atmosphere adapted to children and that I like in a way to keep it so and I do not want alcohol to be mixed with that,” said Denise Pulido.
Kelly said the next steps would be to find certain specifications on how drinks are consumed in public.
“In this case, it would be a cup that would have a particular color and brand so that it is easily identifiable that people walk with an alcoholic drink,” said Kelly. “This hope that the distinction, to our security staff, that people go out in the public with this drink and that it would allow them to be able to control the area and keep them in the specified area.”
If the bill comes through the legislative assembly and obtains the last approval cachet of Governor Ron Desantis, it will come into force the day it becomes the law.
However, if the bill becomes law, the city of Oviedo should always write an order to obtain the comments and councils of the municipal council on the cuts, times and all other prohibited areas. From there, he would go through the public hearing process and the adoption process. Kelly said he hoped that all of this will happen in the fact that the bill will become the law.
