A 42 -year -old man from Dartmouth, NS charged in connection with a Children’s exploitation Investigation that started after a council of the US national center for missing and exploited children.
Halifax regional police said that the accused is confronted with multiple accusations, including attracting a child under the age of 16, manufacturing and having juvenile pornography and infractions related to firearms.
The investigation revealed that the man communicated online with a 10-year-old girl in the United States, posing as a 15-year-old boy. The interactions, which began in January 2025, involved inappropriate sexual content and the sending of letters and handwritten gifts.

On June 5, the investigators executed a search warrant in Shute’s Residence on Gaston Road in Dartmouth, where they seized electronic and firearms.
According to police, John Aaron Shute was arrested without incident and was placed in detention. He must appear before the Dartmouth Provincial Court on a later date.
The Halifax Integrated Child Opence Unit has now collaborated with the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center in Wisconsin to advance the investigation.
Police urges anyone with information on the alleged exploitation of children to contact them or submit anonymous council to Stoppers crime.
In Nova Scotia, it is compulsory to report alleged juvenile pornography. Not doing so could lead to penalties similar to those so as not to report child abuse under the law on children and family services.
The survey remains in progress and additional costs can be placed.
