Business owners celebrated their successes and networked on Sunday during a mixer for the month of women’s history.
San Diego – Northern park shelters a number of companies belonging to women. On Sunday, many of them had the chance to connect, reflect and share their stories between them.
To celebrate the month of women’s history, they gathered for a mixerhosted Bivouac Cider Works on the 30th street.
“People treat women differently, so it’s really nice to have a support network to say, like:” What are we doing in this situation? “” Said the owner of Bivouac, Lara Worm.
Worm opened Bivouac seven years ago. She manages an event space, a restaurant, a coffee and a general store, while producing cider on site.
“I think having a business is quite difficult, but being a woman and having a business is very difficult,” said Worm. “We are faced with many challenges all the time and therefore it is really nice to be able to meet and meet other people.”
Ashley Carter, owner of Pet Store and Bar, was also in the mixer, owner of Pet Store and Bar, Pure pawsh.
“It is incredible to meet women who are going through the same thing and who have made a giant leap in faith, who are courageous and strong and generate their businesses,” said Carter.
Pure Pawsh has a dog store, a daycare and a bar – with a unique touch.
“We actually do dog beer, so that you can enter and have a beer with your dog in our bar,” said Carter.
It is a one -stop shop for dog lovers in the community, with weekly events ranging from dog meetings to Pilates.
Like many others in the mixer, Carter has left his career for several decades to follow his passion and open his own business.
So what is their advice to women who plan to make the jump?
“Do it, follow your passion and you will never work a day in your life,” said Carter.
“As an adult woman, do something really, really hard and overcome, it makes you feel wonderful,” said Worm.
