NOLA Gold, a founding member of Major League Rugby (MLR) and one of 11 teams in the league, made history in 2024 by reaching the playoffs for the first time. The team looks to build on this success in the 2025 season.

“This groundbreaking partnership with Fox 8 and Gray Media is a monumental milestone for NOLA Gold Rugby and Major League Rugby as a whole,” said Thierry Daupin, President of NOLA Gold Rugby. “By broadcasting our matches on free-to-air television, we are bringing professional rugby directly to the homes of millions of fans across the Gulf Coast, making the sport more accessible than ever. This incredible visibility not only expands our fan base, but also positions rugby alongside heavyweights in American sport like the NBA. This is a testament to the rapid growth and strength of professional rugby in the United States, and we are excited to share our exciting brand of rugby with a wider audience, inspiring the next generation of fans and players.

“We are very excited to bring NOLA Gold to the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network,” said Mikel Schaefer, Vice President and General Manager of WVUE-TV. “The Gold is a founding member of professional rugby in the United States, and this is a great way to bring such an exciting and growing sport in America to the Gulf Coast.”

The Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network is available free live in 14 television markets, including Gray Media’s Louisiana stations in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Monroe and Alexandria, as well as Delta Media in Lafayette. The network also airs on Gray Media stations in Biloxi, Jackson, Hattiesburg and Meridian, Mississippi, as well as Mobile, Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama.

Additionally, GCSEN can be accessed on COX in select markets, Fubo and Mediacom, ensuring broad coverage for rugby fans across the Gulf Coast.
