Pontelli stressed that AI should be considered an opportunity.

“Artificial intelligence is a very wide and multifaceted area,” said Pontelli. “The focus made by the NMSU BS-AI program will be to allow students to resolve an analytical and scientific manner who are associated with the development of AI solutions. The program will provide its graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in any type of job that connects to artificial intelligence. ”

Pontelli explained that the practical activities of the study program prepare students for success in the workplace, fill a gap in new-mexic and national workforce, while helping them to become leaders in the development of innovative IA solutions. The methodological foundations will prepare students to progress in their careers and prepare them for access to careers focused on research and advanced diplomas.

The president of the NMSU, Valerio Ferme, defended the creation of the Applied Practice Institute of the NMSU in AI and in automatic learning. The Institute was recently presented in the fundraising campaign of the NMSU Foundation in 1888, which firm supported with assorted funds.

Pontelli, a point of contact for the New Mexico Ai Consortium, coordinates the Institute. With 2 million dollars of the New Mexico Legislative Assembly, NMSU will be able to raise research and education capacities in AI to meet the needs of the workforce, research and economic development of the state and supports state-scale initiatives such as New Mexico Consortium. “The Baccalaureate of AI sciences is only a component of an overview,” said Pontelli. “This overview will include community colleges, it will include higher education programs, and it will include micro-credited via a global NMSU.
